Developer Hydrostor has chosen Kiewit Engineering Group for the development of front-end engineering design (FEED) studies for its 500MW Willow Rock energy storage project in California, United States.
The Willow Rock Energy Storage Center will feature Hydrostor’s Advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage (A-CAES) technology. Construction should require 800 workers.
The facility will storage power from solar and wind power plants in California. Willow Rock will be able to energize up to 400,000 houses for eight hours.
